Hanna Dahlkvist, born 1986 in Stockholm, is active both as a soloist and chamber musician. She is selected ”Artist in Residence” year 2011-2013, by the Swedish Radio classical music channel and is performing in broadcasted concerts, recently in 2013 she appeared as soloist together with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. During this period she also focus on new music which is commissioned for her. For example she will premiere a cello concerto by the composer Djuro Zivkovic in 2013.
Hanna is a member of the Dahlkvist String Quartet which is one of Swedens upcoming quartets. The quartet did a successful Sweden-tour in 2010, after winning an award, ”Young and Talented” 2009, and made their debut in Concert Hall of Stockholm in 2011. Being selected ”Rising Star”, season 2012-2013, they will do a tour in European cities organised by ECHO(European Concert Hall Oganisation).
In 2012 Hanna finished a Master of Music with cellist Michel Strauss at Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure de Musique in Paris. Before that she finished post graduate studies in 2009 with Torleif Thedéen at Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and made an acclaimed final concert with Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Witold Lutoslawskis cello concerto.
She has also had guidance through international master classes with well-known cellists as Janos Starker, Gary Hoffman, Frans Helmerson and Erling Blöndal-Bengtsson.
Hanna is playing on a cello by Nicolas Vuillaume that is lent to her by the Fonds Instrumental Francais.
