Hanna Dahlkvist, born 1986 in Stockholm, is active both as a soloist and chamber musician. She was selected ”Artist in Residence” in 2011-2013 by the Swedish Radio classical music channel, which meant broadcasted performances. In 2013 she appeared as soloist with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. During this period she also focused on new music which was commissioned for her. In 2013 she premiered, to great acclaim, the cello concerto Unceasing Prayers by composer Djuro Zivkovic.
Hanna is a member of the Dahlkvist String Quartet which is one of Sweden’s upcoming quartets. The quartet did a successful Sweden-tour in 2010, after winning an award, ”Young and Talented” in 2009, and made their debut at the Concert Hall of Stockholm in 2011. Being selected ”Rising Star”, season 2012-2013, they performed a tour of European cities organised by ECHO (European Concert Hall Oganisation).
In 2012 Hanna completed a Master of Music with cellist Michel Strauss at Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure de Musique in Paris. Before that she finished post graduate studies in 2009 with Torleif Thedéen at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and gave an acclaimed final concert with Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Witold Lutoslawski’s Cello Concerto.
She has also had guidance through international master classes with well-known cellists as Janos Starker, Gary Hoffman, Frans Helmerson and Erling Blöndal-Bengtsson.
Hanna plays a cello by Nicolas Vuillaume lent to her by Michel Strauss.
